Chocolate Lovers Smoothie

I had been neglecting myself during the lead-up to my brand and website launch. I fell back into the default of staying up too late, not moving enough, and eating too much convenience food. All for the purpose of creating something to help others get well. Ironic right? Unsurprisingly, I noticed that I was starting to feel bloated and that my energy had started to tank.

One of my first points of correction when I notice myself getting off track is to refocus on nourishment. I began to prepare more home-cooked meals for myself and my family. I also created this smoothie which I’ve been enjoying for the past few mornings.

Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz Almond Milk. I love Califia Farms. Add more or less liquid depending on your desired texture. 4 oz makes a lovely drinkable pudding texture.

  • 1 scoop IDLife Chocolate Shake

  • 1 pouch unsweetened Organic Acai. I got mine at our local Target

  • ½ a banana. You can add a full banana for more sweetness or omit it if you want to reduce the sweetness or you need to reduce the carbohydrates.

Blend and enjoy

I’m currently out of Maca powder but a serving of that would have been a beautiful addition to further nourish the heart and the hormones.

Let me know if you tried this recipe and how you loved it.

It’s a wonderful way to indulge while providing your body with protein, antioxidants, and healthy carbohydrates to start the day. This smoothie would also make a nourishing dessert.
